General Information

Civil Protection members obtain rank and armaments through sterilized credits. Sterilized credits are received from hourly anti-fatigue rations.

Certain items will not be available for lower ranks, these include firearms, grenades and so forth.

Rule of the thumb is that if you are unable to attain the said equipment through the Civil Protection kiosk then you should not use it.

Aside from the faction regulations, Civil Protection units are also required to follow the civil codes.

Keep in mind that you are expected to behave as a ruthless police officer rather than a friendly mall-cop.

'Killing' is defined as a Terminal Verdict. Terminal verdict is not referred to as "amputate".

It is important to memorize socio-stability levels, as having the right to carry a firearm does not mean you can deliver terminal verdict at will.

Certain socio-stability levels forbids the general firearms, and deadly force from being used against citizens outside specific parameters.

Unless your life is in imminent danger, you should never resort to killing a citizen, unless told otherwise.

Keep in mind that getting punched by a single citizen is not a life threatening situation. You have a stunstick for a reason.

Based on the socio-stability and PT assignment, you are permitted to make use of your firearms if you feel they are necessary for your missions success.

Keep in mind that if you decide to go down the route of administering a terminal verdict, often times, it will not result in a character-kill for the Citizen.


Important Keybinds & Commands

RMB + Stunstick - Shoves other characters away. Use this as a means to crowd control. Can also be used to wake up restrained, unconscious citizens inside the command point.
LALT + MP7 - Forces unarmed citizens to surrender
/cpcommands - Displays important faction commands
/pt - Protection team radio channel
/cp - Civil protection wide radio channel
/tac - Overwatch joint radio channel
F1 - Displays MCD, your trusty digital companion
F3 - Displays the waypoint menu
F4 - Displays socio-stabilization menu (DISP/RL only)
E - (While looking at a character) Brings up an interaction menu. Can be used to quickly restrain and frisk other characters.


Using Voice Commands

To use voice commands, simply add a semicolon. For example:

Memory Replacement

Civil Protection units will need to undergo a mandatory memory replacement to acquire promotions.

Memory replacement results in the brainwashing of an individual into a pawn with complete loyalty to the Combine. This unquestioning loyalty is achieved by erasing problematic elements from the individuals memory.

In order to keep the integrity of the Combine intact, your character will have to report any and all instances of improper or unlawful activities committed by other protection team members.

To wrap it up, your characters interests must properly align with that of the Combine, and their behavior should clearly reflect this.


Ranks

Protection Team Leaders or (PTL) is a temporary designation given to units are in-charge of their respective protection team. They are responsible for keeping their PT effective and cohesive. Additionally, PTL's are classified as the designated point of contact of their PT. They are responsible for communicating with other PTs and dispatch.
Rank Leaders (RL) act as the first-line supervisors of the assigned city sector. These units coordinate PT activities all while participating in general policing and they perform related work as required. Their tasks consist of providing supervision and direction for subordinate units, as well as observing and evaluating the socio-stability and issue directives based on their findings. In other words, these units perform the same tasks as any other Civil Protection asset but with added responsibilities.


We employ a rank point system. Units start off at RP 50 and work their way up to rank 10, and potentially RL.

Units may request rank upgrades using their sterilized credits. Each rank upgrade grants 5 rank points.
