Biotic Guidelines

This faction is unlocked upon earning a total of 10 civic deeds on your citizen character.

Biotics, or Slave Vortigaunts, are the weaker and more numerous cousins of their Free Vortigaunt counterparts, available (for the time being) to a much greater pool of players than the typical Vortigaunt role.

Your activity as a Biotic will be monitored and may be taken away from you at any time if you fail to play the role correctly.

As such, here are some tips in both surviving as a Biotic and some general rules that should keep you out of trouble, if adhered to.

1. You are bound by the will of the Combine, and are severed from the Vortessence. Obey all direct orders given to you by Civil Protection
2. Do not cause chaos or stirr up trouble without explicit permission.
3. Remember that, while ultimately you do wish to become free, your priority is the safety of the Vortigaunt race and your kin first
and foremost. You should be trying to do your best to assist your liberated brothers in secrecy, and collaborating with their allies
among the Humans when the need arises.
4. Be cautious that not all Humans are very fond of Vortigaunts, and that you as a Biotic are on the lowest rung of the societal ladder.
Humans make up the forces of Civil Protection, and Humans are the native inhabitant of this planet. Typically, they'll believe eachother
over you nine times out of ten. Think about this when you are considering antagonizing a Human.
5. Even if it seems like no one is watching, your free brothers are always monitoring your activity from afar, ever vigilant of strong,
wise Biotics suitable to be uplifted into their ranks. The Combine are very suspicious of the Vortigaunt population, and so, the Elders
do not take on many biotics at one time, to avoid attracting unwanted attention.

Though the Biotic role appears to be very accessible, it should be known that this role is a privilege that may be taken away at any time if your conduct is deemed unsuitable or lacking.

Additionally, the accessibility of this role may be changed in the future if we believe the lack of a strict whitelist is detrimental to RP, especially in this phase of the test.

Becoming a Free Vortigaunt

Free Vortigaunts are chosen from amongst the best and most dedicated Biotic players by the Elders. Typically, one Biotic will be chosen per week, with a maximum of one. Certain events within the game may change this.

The process for liberating a Biotic is done entirely ingame, and through roleplay. It will become known to the chosen Biotic that the time has come for the elders to assess him, and how to go about completing the ritual.
