This faction is unlocked upon earning a total of 30 civic deeds on your citizen character.
Biotics, or Slave Vortigaunts, are the weaker and more numerous cousins of their Free Vortigaunt counterparts, available (for the time being) to a much greater pool of players than the typical Vortigaunt role.
Your activity as a Biotic will be monitored and may be taken away from you at any time if you fail to play the role correctly.
Biotic Duties
You are enslaved by the Combine and nothing you can do will counteract this fact. Thought-out the day, Biotics are responsible for keeping the city clean to the best of their abilities. This includes collecting trash, cleaning floors as well as other janitorial duties such as disposing of the deceased bodies.
Biotic Rules
1. You are bound by the will of the Combine, and are severed from the Vortessence. Obey all direct orders given to you by Civil Protection and Overwatch. You are worth more alive than dead.
2. Do not cause chaos or stir up trouble. This will only earn you a one-way trip to Nova Prospekt.
3. Remember that, while ultimately you do wish to become free, your priority is the safety of yourself.
4. It is imperative that you cooperate with the Combine to the best of your ability, your kind has existed long enough in bondage to understand that menial disobedience causes more harm than good in the long term. While ultimately, your loyalty belongs to the rest of your kin under ideal circumstances, it is more beneficial to all of your kin to survive under the yoke of the Combine, rather than die fighting a battle you have no hope of winning. One day, you know, your time will come.
Though the Biotic role appears to be very accessible, it should be known that this role is a privilege that may be taken away at any
time if your conduct is deemed unsuitable or lacking.
Additionally, the accessibility of this role may be changed in the future if we believe the lack of a strict whitelist is detrimental to RP, especially in this phase of the test.
Becoming a Free Vortigaunt
Free Vortigaunts are chosen from amongst the best and most dedicated Biotic players by the Elders. Typically, one Biotic will be chosen per week, with a maximum of one. Certain events within the game may change this.
The process for liberating a Biotic is done entirely in-game, and through roleplay. It will become known to the chosen Biotic that the time has come for the elders to assess him, and how to go about completing the ritual.
