Civil Protection Fundamentals
This page contains both rules and general advice for Civil Protection players. It is important to have a clear understanding of this page to ensure your success in Civil Protection.
Regulations
Failure to adhere to these rules will result in your Civil Protection whitelist being potentially being revoked/suspended.
If you are unsure about a rule, ask a staff member or a senior CP player.
1. Being able to see characters names/cid in Biopad does not give you the right to 'guess' someones identity. Do not metagame CID or their name to assign them points.
2. Do not confiscate/steal items that are not classified as a contraband.
3. Confiscated contraband must be destroyed.
4. Do not leave any sort of item laying around in Command Points, or any other Overwatch area, including the armory.
5. Do not give away items to other characters. This also means you cannot have business transactions.
6. You are not allowed to use your medical supplies on citizens.Remember, you are not there to save Citizens, you are there to ensure the city remains socio-stable. That being said, you are allowed to use your medical supplies to ensure an individual does not abruptly die middle of their sentence.
7. Do not deviate from civic data entry format. We like to keep the data entries organized and it is there for a reason.
8. Designating individuals as BOL/ANTI-CITIZEN/DETAINED requires you to follow civic data entry format.
9. Your character description must consist of one or two full sentences at most, and must hint your anonymity.
10. Do not go AFK for longer than 10 minutes, and never AFK outside the Command Point. If you have something to do then flag off.
11. You are responsible for those you cycle. Ensure that they are processed when their time is up. Do not disconnect/char swap without letting other units know.
General Information
Civil Protection members obtain rank and armaments through sterilized credits. Sterilized credits are retrieved from their hourly rations, or given by unit in charge.
Aside from the faction regulations, Civil Protection units are also required to follow the civil codes.
Keep in mind that you are expected to behave as a ruthless police officer rather than a friendly mall-cop.
Certain actions could result in you losing sterilized credits, your rank or even de-servicement.
That being said, grasping Civil Protection requires hands-on experience and no wall of text will teach you how to properly role play as one. Civil Protection learning curve consists of trial and error. While an i5 unit is expected to make mistakes, they are also expected to look up to more senior units and learn from them.
Below are some of the most common mistakes that lead up to disciplinary action. Note that this is not a full list, but a mere summary.
14 VERBAL INDISCRETION - Not following cohesive chatter protocols
Verbal indiscretion is given if you do not keep your radio communications short and concise. You may also receive this violation if you do not make use of codes, terminologies and designations when communicating. Example: Typing out "I am going off duty" as opposed to "Unit is 10-7" will earn you a 14. Do not use terms such as "I, me, my". Refer to yourself as unit, officer, or your tagline. Avoid any type of personification in your comms. Refer to city scanners as either AIRWATCH, disp, or dispatch. Remember, typing out 10-76 is faster than typing "On my way" and so is 11-6 as opposed to saying "Shots fired"
99 RECKLESS OPERATION - Failure to complete an important task correctly
Not pacifying a citizen when they are being brought in or out of Command Points. Not following Residential Block Inspections/Raids Policy Not being a part of PT before exiting Command Points. Not using detainment block terminals when cycling prisoners. Not adhering to 94 Protocols Entering restricted blocks/infested zones without perms Failure to follow breaching procedures Improper use of And the list goes on..
Civil Protection is an orderly faction and every member is required to contribute this.
Below are various examples of Civic Data Entry format. Ensure that you follow this format when making an entry on your biopad.
Civic Data Entry Format
Whenever you are updating a citizens record, always ensure that you are following the format below. Do not deviate from this format.
- If the citizen is not BOL, follow the format below.
Points | <VIOLATION> -7 | 603 UNLAWFUL ENTRY
- If the suspect is BOL (i.e. they ran away) Use the format below (
This will ensure that next unit to find this individual administer the pending punishment
POINTS | [BOL] <VIOLATION> -7 | [BOL] UNLAWFUL ENTRY
- Whenever a verdict has been administered and the citizen released from detainment, place an info entry

To kill or not to kill
It is important to memorize socio-stability levels, as having the right to carry a firearm does not mean you can discharge it at will.
Certain socio-stability levels strictly forbid the use firearms and deadly force from being used against citizens. Unless your life is in imminent danger, you should never resort to killing a citizen. Keep in mind that getting punched by a single citizen is not a life threatening situation, and protocols demand that your objective is to pacify them.
In fractured socio-stability, you are permitted to make use of your firearms if you feel they are necessary for your missions success. Keep in mind that if you decide to go down the route of administering a terminal verdict, it will result in an NLR (new life rule) and not a character-kill.
During Judgement Waiver or Emergency Code: Void, citizens killed by any Overwatch forces will result in a permanent character kill.
Rank Clarification
We employ the Intention(INT) rank system.
We consider every unit to be equal, and everyone is classified as a ground unit.
There is no calling people sir or any form of saluting, no matter their intention/rank.
Units are able to request a rank upgrade through terminals, assuming their quota is satisfactory.
Units that are i2 or higher are classified as a TAG (Tactical Aid Group) units. If TAG units are being called upon, you must respond with your MP7.
Every unit performs same duties, but units such as Rank Leader (RL) are responsible for making judgement calls, initiating inspections, authorizing raids and requesting socio-stability changes.
